Less than two hours flight from Copenhagen is the exotic city of Split.
This incredible town on the Adriatic was our introduction to Croatia.
Split is full of Roman ruins and marble walking streets.
It has countless little medieval corridor-like streets and passageways. Finding secret doors leading to secret bars is a real treat.
It’s full of attractive vacationers, amazing seafood restaurants, and countless outdoor bars.
According to my son, William, “this place looks like as if Europe and the Middle East had a baby”.
There is a Middle Eastern vibe in the Balkans, much as there is a North African vibe in southern Spain.
It’s incredible that less than two hours from Denmark, one can experience a place this exotic!
When you come to Split, the town’s Roman Ruins are a must see.
Also, if you want to do some shopping in Croatia, the markets (outdoors and indoors) are much bigger (and better) here than the ones in Dubrovnik.
I vote for Split as the perfect weekend getaway from Copenhagen.
